FOREST of Dean MP Mark Harper has backed Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Brexit plans and said the Conservative Party ‘must pull together as one team to ensure Brexit is delivered’.

But Mr Harper has being told by a pro-Europe group within the region that he must ‘dissociate himself from this move by his Government’.

As the Forester went to press, a day of political drama was coming to a head with MPs voting to take control of the Parliamentary agenda and stop a No-Deal Brexit.

It has caused splits within the Conservatives with some MPs vowing to vote against their own Party despite threats of losing with whip and, as a result, being kicked out and losing their jobs.

Indeed, Mr Johnson’s governing majority of one seat in the House of Commons was wiped out yesterday afternoon when Bracknell MP Dr Phillip Lee crossed the floor and joined the Liberal Democrats.
