FIREFIGHTERS were called out to release a toddler from a car last night.
The one-year-old boy was locked in when his mother accidentally shut the door as she unloaded the shopping.
She could not get him out because the central locking kicked in and the keys were on the back seat.
Firefighters from Lydney raced to Apple Blossom Close just before 6pm on Wednesday.
They broke a small window and then used a sweeping brush to fish the keys out.
Watch manager Kevin Saturley said they were there for about 30 minutes and the toddler was thrilled to see the fire engine afterwards.
He said: "If he had been in any sort of distress we would have got him out straight away, but he was quite happy sitting there so we tried to do it by causing as little damage as possible."
