CAMERON Thomas (pictured) lost to Birtley's David Robson in the Royal Navy Schoolboy finals in Manchester on Sunday.
It was a controversial fight. Robson was awarded two points by the referee, who said the Lydney fighter was holding on.
Cameron's coach Bryan Higgs didn't see it that way and said: "It was the other way around, Robson was holding on to Cameron.
"Cameron was too strong and he (Robson) couldn't cope with him coming forward so he decided to try and push him back.
"Cameron should have been awarded the two points. The contest could have quite easily gone in Cameron's favour if the Birtley boxer had boxed properly."
There was a silver lining for Cameron. After the contest England coach Mick Gannon handed him a letter, asking him to represent England in the Tri-Nations against Scotland and Wales.
Higgs said: "Cameron will now get his England vest which he has been working towards from the age of seven."
