THIS week marks the 13th anniversary of the brutal murder of Shaun James in a Steam Mills back alley.

And while the investigation into his death has been reopened, it remains shrouded in mystery and unanswered questions.

The 32-year-old from Cinderford is believed to have been deliberately run over and dumped in Sawmills Lane on December 15, 2002.

Despite the concerted efforts of police, no one has been brought to book for his death, although investigations are still ongoing.

Yesterday his partner Lisa McStraw and ex-wife Stephanie James and other members of the family laid flowers at his grave in a rain-lashed Yew Tree Brake Cemetery.

Lisa said: “Time hasn’t changed anything. It’s all still very raw and this is always a difficult time of year.”

Stephanie James, Shaun’s former wife said: “We can now se some light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s been a long time coming.

“It is still very stressful at this time of year, coming up to Christmas. It’s always a hard time.”

The Rev Nick Bromfield, Vicar of Drybrook, who was also Present at the graveside, said: “I have got to know the family since this happened and I like tot be there for them, hopefully to offer some emotional and spiritual support.”
