Parking charges could put the brakes on next year's Coleford Carnival of Transport, which saw its worst turnout ever on Easter Monday.

Wet weather deterred many and the carnival is expected to make a loss for the third year running.

Treasurer Derek Francis said: "The event usually attracts 10,000 visitors but you could halve that for this year."

Compounding problems for the carnival is the threat of car parking fees.
