RESIDENTS of Elton have formed a protest group opposed to the development of a major solar farm in the heart of the district.

The developer, Wessex Solar Energy, proposes to build the solar farm on two sites either side of Littledean Road. They claim it will generate enough electricity to power some 2,500 homes.

However, a number of residents have banded together to fight the proposals.

Simon Murray, a member of 'Say No to Elton Solar Park' told The Forester that very few households had been contacted by the developer.
