LYDNEY skipper Ed Jones and his brother Will took four wickets apiece to bowl out Hatherley & Reddings for 159 and give their side a deserved 21 run victory at The Rec.
Put into bat, Lydney reached 31 before Will Jones was trapped lbw. Charlie Bendall was run out, then James Legge and Jon Bowdler fell cheaply to leave the home side precariously placed on 89-4.
Jake Bonser boosted the total with 44 from 47 balls but he too was run out. Opener Jon Kear held things together with 76 from 117 balls, including 11 fours, as Lydney closed on 180-8 from 45 overs.
Hatherley would have fancied their chances at the midway stage, but Pete Glynn clean bowled opener Clarkson for a duck. Coote and Soma added 51 before Ed Jones trapped the former lbw for 26. With his very next delivery he sent back danger man Mark Nally in the same fashion.
Ed Jones bowled Perks for one and dismissed Ian Coote lbw for four. With Glynn effecting the run out of Alex Jennings, Hatherley found themselves reeling on 86-6.
Soma (68) and Tiplady (19) took the score to 144 but Will Jones demolished the innings in superb style. He had Soma lbw, then got rid of Tiplady and Dan Jones with catches from Paul Morris. He rattled the stumps of last man Theedom to finish things off in the 43rd over.
