THE eight minute target time for ambulances in rural areas is being scrapped - meaning people in the Forest will have to wait longer for an ambulance than those living in bigger towns and cities.

It was recently revealed that response times for ambulances in the Forest failed to hit government targets.

The management of South West Ambulance Service Trust has informed doctors in rural areas that they will be setting more realistic 'trajectories' for hard-to-reach areas.
