A DRIVER had to be rescued and was taken to hospital by emergency services after becoming trapped inside an overturned car in Cinderford this week.
The car left Valley Road and drove straight into a garden in the early hours of Sunday morning (May 30), narrowly missing a nearby pond.
The driver had to be cut out by rescue teams after the car was left on its side amongst some hedges.
Two Cinderford fire crews attended the scene and rescued the driver, who was then taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
There were no other vehicles involved in the collision.
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service posted on Twitter on Sunday morning: “Both our Cinderford crews have attended a road traffic collision this morning on Valley Road.
“Only one car involved, it left the road and luckily stopped short of the pond.
“Casually handed over to South Western Ambulance Service.
“Please drive safely this bank holiday weekend.”
