ONLY the wealthy will be able to afford to buy a new house in Lydney if a developer has its way in getting rid of an obligation to provide 291 homes at an affordable price.

The developer, Pioneer Property Service Ltd is claiming that two sites east of Lydney should be treated as one entity to make it viable to build over 1000 new homes.

The developer already has permission to build on two sites on land between the Lydney bypass and Highfield Road.
