THE developer behind a major housing scheme in Lydney is to be served with an enforcement notice – for not constructing a bus link to the town after the 50th dwelling had been sold. .
The bus link was one of the key conditions given to the developer, MMC Land & Regeneration of Lancashire, when it was granted planning permission to build some 200 homes on the former Federal Mogul foundry site.
Last week, the developer asked to be given more time to build the bus link near to the existing road that extends into Camborne Place – until December 2014 or by the occupation of the 185th dwelling.
But Forest of Dean planners would not budge, and insisted that the bus link had to be completed by July 4, 2013.
Coun James Bevan said: "There is no alternative for the residents of this area but to use their cars. This is effectively an island.
