Errea Northern Senior League

Division One

Dursley 2

Broadwell 1

BROADWELL'S luck finally ran out as struggling Dursley took all three points off them in Saturday's Northern Senior clash.

Without Danny Latham and Steve Belfitt, Broadwell let Dursley dictate the game. Their long ball tactics worked a treat on the heavy pitch.

Ironically, it was a long ball from goalkeeper Lee Harris that carved out Broadwell's only goal of the game.

Ross Scott was quick to react to the bouncing ball just inside the Dursley box. Wilson knocked him to the floor and Guy Jones sent the keeper the wrong way from the resulting penalty.

Dursley bombarded the Broadwell defence for long spells of the second-half.

With 20 minutes remaining, Lee Harris punched a free-kick to the feet of Davies, who coolly slotted.

Ten minutes later, a Broadwell corner was quickly cleared to 16-year-old striker Chandler.

His shot struck Broadwell's challenging defender Neil Bailey and sailed over Harris into the net.

This was Broadwell's first league defeat of the season and highlighted their need for more pace in the team.

Hopefully, Danny Latham will return for this week's game at home to bogey team Barnwood (2pm).

Broadwell's man of the match was the ever improving Neil Bailey.

Broadwell: Lee Harris, Guy Jones, Neil Bailey, Andy Green, Scott Albon, Ross Scott, Carl Adams, Matt Foxwell, Ian Price, Craig Lewis, Mick Robbins. Subs: Richard Evans, Mark Allen.
