A 32-year-old Ross man who failed to tell the police who was driving a car at the time of an alleged speeding offence on the A40 at Huntley has been hit with a bill of more than £1,000 in fines, costs and surcharges.
Lee Clement of Three Crosses Road, Ross, was required to tell Gloucestershire Police by August 5 who was at the wheel of a Vauxhall on the Ross Road opposite Newent Lane when it allegedly exceeded 30mph on June 21 2022.
He failed to do so and at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court, where the charge of failing to provide information was proved, he was fined £660 plus £85 costs and a £264 surcharge.
His driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points. He has until April 17 to pay the total due of £1,104.
