A 27-year-old Lydney woman has been charged with driving while almost four times over the alcohol limit – and with an illegal level of cocaine in her blood.

Morgan Jenkins, of Daffodil Drive, Lydney, also faces a charge of assaulting a police officer in a separate incident four months later.

Her case was listed at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court last week but there was insufficient time to deal with it and she was bailed to 23rd September, when she is due to enter his pleas to all four charges she faces.

It is alleged that on 8th February this year she drove a Vauxhall Corsa on Allaston Road, Lydney, with 129 mcgs of alcohol on her breath (more than three and a half times the limit of 35mcgs) and illegal levels of cocaine and Benzoylecgonine in her blood.

Benzoylecgonine is a metabolite of cocaine.

Jenkins is further charged with assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty at Lydney on 29th February.

She was granted unconditional bail till the next hearing.
