A 26-year-old Cinderford man caught drink-driving twice in a month has been banned from the roads for two years and ordered not to drink alcohol for 90 days.

Danny Clydesdale, of Hopewell, Cinderford, was more than twice over the legal limit on both occasions when he was caught at the wheel near his home in June and July this year, Cheltenham Magistrates’ heard.

Clydesdale pleaded guilty to driving his Vauxhall Corsa at Hopewell on 12th June with 91mcgs of alcohol on his breath – and to doing the same on 10th July when his breath reading was 88mcgs. The legal limit is 35mcgs.

He was banned from driving for two years, fined £120, ordered to abstain from alcohol for 90 days, placed on a one year community order with up to ten days of rehabilitation activities and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £114 surcharge.

He was told that if he completes an approved driving course by 2nd January 2028 his ban will be reduced by 24 weeks.
