Cinderford 26
Rosslyn Park 21
ROSSLYN Park were in control for much of the first half and thoroughly deserved to be 8-0 ahead through a Mark Atkinson penalty and a Neville Edwards try.
Dave Knight got Cinderford back in the game – racing through a gap for a try after a strong run from Cinderford man of the match George Evans.
It got even better for Cinderford when centre Rob Winchle burst through a hole and found winger Nev Codlin up in support. The club's top try scorer raced under the posts to leave Dan Trigg a simple conversion.
Incredibly, Cinderford led 12-8 at the break.
The visitors were gifted possession at the start of the second half and Atkinson landed a penalty.
Cinderford responded with a terrific line-out catch-and-drive. When Park were adjudged to have pulled the maul down the referee awarded a penalty-try which Trigg converted.
Both sides lost a man to the sin-bin – Chris Hall getting 10 minutes on the sidelines for the hosts.
Park were next to score when replacement Morgan Cross went over in the 63rd minute.
Ten minutes from time, Cinderford secured the bonus point when Mark Rimmer showed great strength to break through a tackle and stretch over the line. Trigg converted.
Park set up a close finish when Ed Lewis-Pratt sprinted clear to score in the corner.
