Firefighters in the Forest of Dean tackled a major fire in a two storey building in Market Street, Cinderford in the early hours of Sunday.

Two appliances from Cinderford, two from Coleford and one from Lydney attended the scene.

One male and one female were rescued from the flat and treated at the scene by ambulance.

One male and one female were rescued from an adjoining property by the fire service, they were uninjured.

The fire service used four jets, eight breathing apparatus and are still using Cheltenham's aerial platform to contain the fire.

A structural engineer has been called to attend the scene as it looks as though the gable end of the building could collapse.
