A DISTRICT councillor has called out people he claims have made complaints against him, alleging fraud.
Councillor Andrew Gardiner stood up in last week’s Strategic Overview and Scrutiny committee and pointed the finger at committee chairman Cllr Simon Phelps who, although he did not name him in his speech to the committee, Cllr Gardiner claims played a part in the issue.
It all surrounds a letter Cllr Gardiner sent and was published in The Forester’s sister paper, the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Review, a couple of weeks ago.
In that letter, Cllr Gardiner mentioned a previous correspondence with the Review and what he regarded as a ‘flawed planning determination’ of the Cinderford Northern Quarter.
But in a second correspondence, Cllr Gardiner claims he had a ‘letter of complaint’ submitted by ‘a senior officer’ of the Forest of Dean District Council.
