A LOCAL charity is looking for volunteers to help it continue providing its much needed service.
Bream Voluntary Car Service, which has been providing transport services for medical and health-related appointments in the Forest of Dean since 1994, is seeking community-minded drivers to join them.
It is free to join and drivers will have their petrol costs reimbursed. Drivers provide transport to medical appointments at hospitals, doctors, dentists, opticians and more, for those who are unable to transport themselves.
Bream Voluntary Car Service became registered as a charity in 2000, and over the years has served vast numbers of local people to reach their destination.
The charity believes that with more centralisation of medical facilities and reduction in public transport services, it has become more difficult for its local clients to access their appointments - which is why the service is so important.
