A 44-year-old Coleford man has been convicted in his absence of assaulting a woman by beating.
David Greenway of Staunton Road had pleaded not guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to assaulting the woman on September 1 2021.
He did not attend on the day of the trial and was found guilty.
The magistrates adjourned until February 27 for a pre-sentence report to be prepared on Greenway or for a warrant to be issued for his arrest.
They made it a condition that he must not contact his victim in the meantime.
