In December, 2012, I was with a group of local people at the Gloucester (RFOD) College at Five Acres, where we were told that the College definitely wouldn't be closing down.
Then we had the appointment of a new Principal, who espoused his great enthusiasm for closing down the College and building a new one, albeit smaller with a more limited curriculum, near Steam Mills in 2015.
In your report on the 'A' Level passes this year at the College (congratulations to the students and their hard-working lecturers), the Campus Vice-Principal said that student numbers were down because of the '"rumours" that the College would be closing down, implying that the proposed scheme to build a new college was just that 'a rumour'.
So perhaps the Gloucester College hierarchy, sat in their ivory tower offices, can enlighten the people of the Forest, especially those who will be affected if the College does close, with all its ramifications; what their plans really are on a definite basis.
