A CINDERFORD woman is due to appear in court this month after admitting a benefit fraud offence.

Mercedes Bradley, 31, of Ironworks Close, Cinderford, has been committed to Gloucester Crown Court by Cheltenham magistrates.

Bradley indicated a guilty plea to a charge of dishonestly failing to notify the Department of Work and Pensions of capital savings or investments which would affect entitlement to Universal Credit between March 26 2020 and August 28 2021.

The magistrates sent the case to the Crown Court for a confiscation order to be considered and Bradley was granted bail pending an appearance on November 24.
