Tynedale 20
Cinderford 33
CINDERFORD continued their tremendous run with their first ever win at Tynedale.
The home side were always up against it after having number eight Sam Shires sent off in the 50th minute following a second yellow card.
The first half was tight and fiercely contested, with no quarter given at the breakdown and some crunching tackling from both teams.
Danny Trigg was back to his best kicking form for Cinderford and landed three penalties, with Matthew Outson making a solitary reply as the visitors led 9-3 at the interval.
Tynedale began the second half strongly and full-back Sep Visser crossed for two fine tries, the second of which was converted by replacement fly-half Joel Hodgson.
It was all Cinderford for the next 20 minutes.
Number eight George Evans went over from a 5m scrum, then Rob Winchle was on hand to race over after some great play by Adam Nicholls, who was captaining the side in the absence of Chris Hall, Luke Allen and Paul Price.
A third try followed from scrum-half Luke Carter who had an outstanding match.
Carter has stepped up well since filling in for Sam Brown, who recently suffered a family bereavement.
Trigg converted all three tries and also kicked a long range penalty.
There was still time for Visser to complete his hat-trick after a clever kick ahead by Hodgson, but it was all in vain as Cinderford left with the points.
