THE team of Gloucestershire Reusable Nappy Project and the Forest of Dean District Council is holding a community event to help families save money and reduce waste with real nappies.
On Thursday, April 16, an advisor will be at the Humbugs and Hoglets toddler group, based at the Forest and Wye Community Church in Cinderford, to offer advice, help with fitting and arrange loan kits.
The free event, run by Kirstie Clarke, will be available between 10am and 12pm for residents to get the information and support they need.
A spokesperson for the event said: “Come and meet our Reusable Nappy Advisor, Kirstie. Find out about the Gloucestershire Reusable Nappy Project, ask questions, and learn more about washable nappies.
“Get free support with choosing and using your nappies or try our Nappy Library, just drop us a line if you'd like to borrow a kit. This is a free drop-in event and totally informal. We look forward to seeing you.”
Some of the services the Gloucestershire Reusable Nappy Project offers include the ‘Nappy Library’, where you can borrow a pack of reusable nappies for free for up to eight weeks. In addition, there is the ‘Nappy newsletter’, which keeps residents up to date with tips, news, and support.
The project, in partnership with ‘Kids Stuff’ in Stroud and Cirencester, is also helping to keep reusable nappies in circulation.
Over the past 18 years, the project has distributed more than 5,000 vouchers. However, this year, money-back vouchers have been replaced with discount codes offering five to twenty per cent off nappy purchases.
The project said it looks forward to supporting even more families in making the switch to reusables.
