CINDERFORD remain winless this season after losing to Kingsholm by eight wickets.

Put into bat, Cinderford lost Richard Henry for five, but Steve Roberts and Matthew Whitney featured in a stand of 57 until Roberts was caught by Daniels off the bowling of Rayer for 35.

Whitney dropped anchor and batted throughout the remainder of the innings for 62 not out.

Mark House made a bright 19, but Richard Bywater gave the innings extra impetus with 53 not out. Bywater put on 82 in partnership with Whitney, hitting six fours and a six. That helped Cinderford to a final total of 205-5.

Cinderford needed to take early wickets, but they could not make a breakthrough.

Kingsholm openers Jon Veits and Shaun Uthup batted the Foresters out of the game with an opening stand of 162. Uthup hammered 16 fours and a six in his 101, while Veits struck 10 fours and a six in his 71.

Mark Roberts eventually dismissed both men, but Kingsholm easily reached their target with 5.1 overs to spare.
