Stourbridge 0
Cinderford 11
MUD-LOVING Cinderford continued their push away from the bottom of the table with their fifth win out of six.
On a very heavy pitch both sides struggled for fluency.
Cinderford started well – with their pack to the fore – but Danny Trigg missed an early shot at goal.
Trigg made amends by diving on a loose ball in the nick of time, to deny Stourbridge's Sam Baker a try.
Trigg kicked a 20th minute penalty for the visitors, who lost winger Nevaro Codlin to the sin-bin eight minutes before the break for a deliberate knock-on. That proved to be the only score of the first half.
As the second half progressed Stourbridge became increasingly frustrated by their inability to breakdown a resolute Cinderford defence. Their indiscipline was to cost them when Trigg landed a second penalty on 56 minutes.
More home indiscipline saw flanker Matt Thomas yellow carded and Cinderford seized the initiative to score the only try of the game just past the hour mark.
The home scrum was driven back over their own line and number eight George Evans capped a superb display with a touchdown.
Stourbridge threw everything into attack in the closing stages of the match, but Cinderford's defence was up to the task and they closed out the game for an excellent bonus point victory.
The Foresters owed their third away win of the season to their forwards, who grafted hard throughout, gaining ascendancy as the match went on.
They kept the ball close to the ruck to pin Stourbridge inside their own half for long periods.
