Rosslyn Park 22

CINDERFORD'S second visit to the capital produced a bonus point, but again it should have been so much more.

Rosslyn Park fly-half Ross Laidlaw was in superb form with the boot and never looked like missing a kick, slotting goals from different positions all over the pitch.

Cinderford opened their account with a Danny Trigg penalty, but Laidlaw responded in kind on six minutes.

Midway through the first half Park full-back Edward Lewis-Pratt gathered his own clever chip and off-loaded to winger Miles Mantella, who ran through to score under the posts. Laidlaw converted.

Trigg kicked two penalties to cut the half-time deficit to a point.

At the start of the second half Cinderford winger Nev Codlin tried to gather his own chip but was beaten to the ball by the Park full-back, who could only carry the ball over his own line.

Cinderford won a penalty from the resulting scrum, which Trigg slotted for a 12-10 lead.

Two Laidlaw penalties gave the home side the upper hand, but with seven minutes remaining a strong rolling maul from the visitors allowed replacement Luke Allen to go over for an unconverted try. However, indiscipline at the breakdown gave Park two penalties in the last two minutes – and Laidlaw kicked them both to give his side victory.
