Cinderford 38pts, Stourbridge 41

A late penalty from visiting full-back Jamie Hearn edged Stourbridge to victory, in a match that was a credit to both teams and a great advert for National League One rugby.

It was end-to-end rugby throughout with the home side building up a 20-7 lead just before half time with tries from Luke Carter, Lloyd Stapleton and Sam Wilkes. Danny Trigg kicking a conversion and penalty.

Stourbridge replied with a try from James Rodley and in injury time at the end of the first-half centre Greg King went over for a fine individual try. Both scores were converted by Hearn.

The second half continued at a frantic pace and Trigg kicked an early penalty before Matt Williams and James Freeman scored tries for the visitors with Hearn adding a conversion.

Trigg levelled the scores at 26-26 after 53 minutes play, before home captain Adam Nicholls touched down with Trigg converting.

Back came Stourbridge with Hearn scoring and converting his own try before hooker Liam Wordley went over from another rolling maul.

Cinderford thought they had done enough to gain a share of the spoils when prop Chris Bundy scored an unconverted try but Hearn was on target with his penalty to earn Stourbridge a dramatic victory.
