A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy can have a life-changing operation, thanks to the efforts of big-hearted Forest fundraisers.

Charlie Mitchell from Lydney suffers from cerebral palsy and has difficulty moving around on his own.

His family want him to undergo a specialist procedure called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy, which would reduce the pain in his legs.

Though identified as an ideal candidate for the operation, it is currently not funded by the NHS.

The family sought to raise £25k for the operation – but supporters have already exceeded that target, raising more than £32k.
