FORMER Forest Sensory Services manager Jenny Green says her employment was terminated without prior notice or negotiation.

The popular Cinderford charity that provides support for people with hearing or vision loss was facing closure.

Ms Green who had worked at the charity for 14 years said the trustees gave her no prior communication, negotiation or consultation over her redundancy.

She said: “After 14 years of dedication and committed service to Forest Sensory Services, even working when I had breast cancer, I was saddened and upset at the way my employment was terminated by way of redundancy.

“However, I am leaving full of pride at what has been achieved and confident I, my work colleagues and team of volunteers have had a very positive impact on the lives of so many local Forest residents with sensory loss.

A Forest Sensory Services spokesperson said the charity made the redundancy decision after drawing upon its reserves for several years.

The spokesperson added: “The decision to make the manager’s post redundant was not taken lightly.

“It was one of several courses of action considered to establish sustainability and take the charity safely through to January 2017 and beyond.
