POLICE have issued CCTV images of a gang believed to be behind a spate of robberies in the Forest.
The pictures show the two man gang raiding the Harry Tuffins store on Hams Road in Lydney.
During the early hours of
the morning they threw two rocks through the door before climbing in and filling blue bags with alcohol.
Similar methods have been used to steal cigarettes and perfume from other shops in Lydney and Coleford and now store owners are considering setting up a Shopwatch scheme.
These pictures show one of the gang members wearing a distinctive pink top which the police are anxious to trace.
A security alert was issued last week after it emerged 33 businesses, sheds and shops were broken into during September.
This compared to 26 for the same period last year, showing a rise of more than 26 per cent.
Lydney Town Council is to write to police raising concerns about the rise in robberies and anti-social behaviour.
Officers are urging anybody who recognises them to call 101 quoting incident 34 of October 1.
