CARING teenagers came to the rescue of a Cinderford senior citizen who fell and broke her ankle.

Tina Burris, who up to now had been a spritely pensioner, recently spent 16 days in hospital due to a fractured ankle she sustained while gardening at her home in Trinity Way.

Shortly after she fell she called out to four passing teenagers who came to her aid and helped phone the paramedics.

She said after returning home from hospital: “I broke my ankle while working in the garden. But I managed to make my way back towards the back door of my house.

“But as I was doing this four kids were passing by and they came over and stayed with me for a couple of hours until the paramedics and my family arrived.

“I’ve only managed to find out the names of three of the kids that helped me but I would really like to thank Emily Burris, Courtney Hale and Brandon Smith for all their efforts.

"I would also like to thank the other teenager as well. These children’s parents should be extremely proud of them.

“They gave me the support I needed and helped by phoning the paramedics again.”
