NEIGHBOURS have called for more gritting on the Forest's steep side roads and pavements after pensioner Anne Roberts became the first victim of a double whammy of snow, which has brought the Dean to a standstill.
The Cinderford OAP was already suffering from a black eye after slipping on an icy pavement when a Peugeot car ploughed through two fences and into her home.
Neighbours say the car narrowly missed a woman taking the shopping out of the boot of her car before it went crashing into the house.
Now they say more needs to be done to stop steep side streets like Parragate Road in Cinderford turning into death traps during Arctic weather.
