SHOPKEEPERS are to go on battling against car parking fees despite a partial climbdown by the Forest of Dean District Council.

After coming under mounting pressure from the towns to scrap the charges, council leaders agreed to cut the fees but not scrap them.

But Coleford councillor Paul McMahon – a leading figure in the fight – and local shopkeepers say the move doesn't go far enough.
