Forest of Dean planners attended a public meeting last week to discover more about the proposed solar farm in Mitcheldean before members debated the application.

The application, presented by Bee Green Solar Ltd aims to create a solar farm on land adjacent to the Vantage Point Business Village in Mitcheldean.

The application for the 14,280-panel solar farm was recommended for refusal by officers, but was deferred in January so that members could be better informed.

The scheme at Breakheart Hill, east of Mitcheldean, is part of Vantage Point Business Village's attempt to become self sufficient and carbon neutral by generating its own power through solar.
