Determined bosses at the Aldi supermarket chain, have taken a refusal to allow a new store in Coleford on the chin and aim to bounce back with a redrawn plan.
Forest of Dean District Council refused refused Aldi’s proposals for a new food store in Coleford last month.
But a spokesperson from Aldi said: “Despite the outcome of the Committee earlier this month, we remain committed to opening a new neighbourhood food store in Coleford.
“We have been overwhelmed by the level of local support we have received and would like to reassure local residents about our intentions for the scheme.
“We remain convinced that this site is the only feasible option for a new store in Coleford, and that our proposals would have a beneficial impact on the town.
“Following the recent decision, we are taking legal advice and working towards submitting a revised planning application later this year.
