BROCKWEIR and Hewelsfield Village Shop and café is celebrating 15 years of trading with a special afternoon tea for its volunteers.
The shop has some 60 volunteers who undertake wide range of roles including working behind the till, in the café, gardening, collecting orders, shelf stacking, and maintenance.
The volunteers will be thanked for their contribution at the tea which is taking place on June 6 to mark Volunteers’ Week, which runs from June 1 to 7 .
The shop’s youngest volunteers are in their teens and the oldest in their eighties, but in order to remain sustainable the team need more volunteers to help out with the many roles that are essential to organisation’s success.
