Gloucestershire One

Dursley 29

BREAM made a great start to this game – the only one played in the division – but had nothing to show for their efforts.

Dursley defended doggedly to repel the onslaught, with Bream not helping their cause by missing penalties.

It all started to go wrong for Bream from one of their own attacks. Dursley intercepted a pass to run in under the posts for a converted try against the run of play.

Ten minutes later, a loose Dan Hardy pass from a quickly taken tap penalty gifted Dursley a second try.

After dominating from the start, Bream found themselves trailing 14-0 and their heads went down.

Two more tries and a penalty from a rejuvenated Dursley team completed the rout.

David James and Carl Rogers were the pick of the Bream team, but the Foresters simply failed to compete as a unit.

Bream captain Marcus Cowles said: "We didn't think the game would be on because of the bad weather and I am afraid we were not very well prepared.

"Dursley deserved this win with some good forward play and intelligent kicking."
