A BODY was found on Friday evening at a Porthcawl beach by South Wales Police in the search for the missing Beachley pensioner.
Local police were called to the Merthyr Mawr sand dunes, close to the Newton Beach area of Porthcawl on September 16 at 5.18pm after a body was found.
Eddie Wise, 74, who had a passion for rambling regularly went on lone walking trips, is said to have planned his walks with military precision.
He made arrangements to contact his daughter on his return from his walks.
But when he failed to return from his hike on July 18, his daughter raised the alarm.
Police officers from Gloucestershire found Mr Wise’s blue Nissan Note, in a car park at the beauty spot at Merthyr Mawr near Bridgend on Sunday, July 31 after specialist officers tracked Mr Wise’s movements on the motorway and mobilised a team of six to search the coast at Ogmore by Sea.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said that the investigation was still ongoing to determine the identity of the body, and that the family of Eddie Wise had been contacted.
