POLICE looking for a missing Gloucester man have recovered a body from Cannop Ponds.

A search was mounted for Fraser McDonald-Bell after he went missing late on Monday night.

Police put out an appeal on Tuesday morning but the search was called off when a body was recovered from the Forest of Dean beauty spot on 00.30 on Wednesday morning.

Although formal identification has not been carried out, it is believed that it is the 42-year-old Mr Bell.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and has been referred to the Gloucester Coroners Office.

The family of Mr McDonald-Bell have been informed.

Mr Bell was last seen at his home address at about 11pm on Monday.

His family were concerned because he suffers from health problems and did not have any medication with him.

He had difficulty walking and was believed to have left the area in a blue Ford Focus with tinted windows at the back.

The vehicle was last just after midnight, possibly heading out of Gloucester westbound on the A40.
