A 35-year-old Blaisdon man who admitted a number of driving offences as well as the theft of a £4,000 caravan has been given a six months suspended jail term and banned from the roads for three years.

Carl Wozencroft of Blaisdon Meadow campsite was also ordered by Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to pay almost £3,500 in fines, costs, surcharges and compensation after he admitted the offending spree between November 2020 and November last year.

Wozencroft pleaded guilty to stealing an Avondale Dart caravan at Coleford on November 28 2020.

He also admitted driving a Honda Civic on Llanthony Road, Gloucester, on  May 17 2021 while disqualified and without third party insurance in force – and then driving a Vauxhall Insignia on the same road on June 3 2021, also while banned and without insurance.

He further pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order between May and July 2022 and driving a Ford CMax on the A40 at Over with excess alcohol in his breath and without insurance or a valid licence on November 18 2022.

He also pleaded guilty to failing to answer bail at court at a hearing on May 4 last year.

As well as the total 24 week jail term which was suspended for 18 months and the financial penalties totalling £3,408, Wozencroft was placed under supervision and must take part in a rehabilitation programme and activities.
