FRIENDS and family said farewell to Bethan Rosetta at a memorial service at the weekend.

Around 150 people turned up to say goodbye to Bethan who was found dead at Newent Lake by a dog walker.

Her mother arranged a memorial service for those in Newent who could not get to her funeral in Pembrokeshire.

Some of the congregation wore pink to remember Bethan, who came from her home in Barry, South Wales in 2010 to do equestrian studies at Hartpury.

The service at St Mary's Church was led by the Rev Simon Mason and boyfriend Stewart Gayther gave an emotional reading.

Afterwards close friends and family visited the lake to lay flowers.

Her mother Yvonne Rees-Coleman said it was a fitting tribute to the bright, popular 20-year-old.

Yvonne, 54, had been visiting her in Newent shortly before she went missing.

She was determined it would be dignified and after the service she said: "It was very nice, a lovely turnout.

"It was appropriate because Newent was such a huge part of her life."
