VISITORS were treated to wood-fired pizza and a first look at two new showhomes as Bellway launched the final phase of a major housing development in Lydney.

The housebuilder has opened the doors to the Goldsmith and Scrivener showhomes at Forest Walk, a 200-home development forming part of the wider Lydney Urban Extension.
Forest Walk, which is located to the west of the A48 Lydney Bypass, comprises 200 homes and forms part of the wider Lydney Urban Extension.
The full scheme will include 170 homes for private sale and 30 affordable properties available to local people through low-cost rent or shared ownership.
It is the second project Bellway has delivered in Lydney in recent years, following the completion of 90 homes at Archer’s Walk, off Highfield Road, in 2021.

Sales manager Rhian Reid said: “As the final phase of the wider development, Forest Walk represents the last chance for people to buy a new-build home in this attractive new neighbourhood. The showhomes demonstrate the high specification and quality of homes on offer.”
Guests at the launch on Saturday, May 3 enjoyed food and refreshments courtesy of local caterers Fabioni’s, while exploring the four-bedroom properties designed to showcase the development’s open-plan style and modern finish.
Prices for homes at Forest Walk start at £299,995, with a selection of three and four-bedroom houses currently available to reserve.
As part of the development’s planning agreement, Bellway will invest nearly £3 million into local infrastructure and services, including roads, schools, and library provision.
Ms Reid added: “Lydney has been identified as a key area for new housing in the Forest of Dean, and Forest Walk is making an important contribution. The financial support we’re providing will benefit both new homeowners and the wider community.”
Construction at Forest Walk is ongoing, with the final homes expected to be completed by summer 2028.
