A severe accident involving four vehicles has closed the A48 at Chepstow in both directions on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident has caused long traffic queues in and around the town with the A48 closed from the B4293 at Hardwick Terrace to Bulwark Road.
The road is not due to open again until at least 6.30pm.
