MILE End-based artist Doug Eaton has created a visceral protest artwork displayed in the window of The Gallery Cinderford in Market Street.
The work juxtaposes 19th-century quotes from poem The Forester's Egg and the Rev Nicholls about Foresters' tendency to riot with an imagined conversation between MP Mark Harper and the Prime Minister about "the hysterical few".
It includes riot police and crowds smashing diggers.
He said: "This is my primeval artistic reaction to the Forest sell-off bid."
