POLICE are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a fatal collision on the A48 this morning (Monday).

The incident happened on the A48 near Stroat shortly before 7.40am and involved a Peugeot and a Triumph motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 50s suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.

The road is closed whilst collision investigators are at the scene. Motorists heading north were diverted at Tutshill near Chepstow onto the adjoining road leading through Woodcraft and St Briavels while those heading south were stopped just outside Lydney.

Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, saw either of the vehicles beforehand or was in the area at the time and hasn’t yet spoken to Police.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the collision is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident number 56 of 5 November.
