Organisers of Aylburton Carnival were well prepared for Saturday’s blistering heat with new gazebos and a pergola to provide extra shade for visitors.

It was so hot that the planned dog show was cancelled for the welfare of he animals

The parade took it traditional route from Taurus Crafts, along the A48 to the Aylburton Business Centre and then back to the Memorial Hall field.

The carnival is the main fundraiser for the upkeep of the memorial hall.

The float entries included the Friends of Aylburton School, The Cross Inn and Arete Dance Academy who won first prize.

Lydney Rugby Club’s junior section won the prize for the best walking entry.

Among the many attractions were Lydney Training Band.
