FAMILY firm Watts want to put a supermarket in the middle of Lydney as part of ambitious lans to develop the town.
"I want to fly the flag for Lydney" said company boss John Thurston.
"As far as I am concerned it is the place to come.
"Lydney has all the green spaces, the road links, the railway station and all the new houses.
"It is the gateway to the Forest of Dean."
The company, which was one of Lydney's biggest employers for many years, is poised to put in another planning application for industrial development at Mead Lane, which should create and safeguard jobs.
