A 39-year-old Alvington man has been ordered to pay £100 compensation to a police officer he assaulted in Lydney in January.
At Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court, James Leopold of Main Road, Alvington, pleaded guilty to assault by beating of Andrew Brain, a police officer acting in the course of his duties as an emergency worker on January 14 this year.
Leopold was fined £230 and ordered to pay £100 compensation to the officer.
The magistrates said the offence was aggravated by the fact that it was committed against an emergency worker on duty.
