POLICE are at the scene of a serious collision near Lydbrook.

The collision happened shortly after 11.10am today, July 27, near to Mireystock crossroads and involved a motorcycle which appears to have lost control and collided with a tree.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, suffered serious injuries was taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital, Bristol.

Roads remain closed at this time and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
